Windows update continuously has the habit of uninstalling, disabling, and all other manners of breaking HidGuardian. The cause is unknown as the service is installed and operated like any other service until the point of update. The fix is likely to implement a series of checks within InputMapper to see if everything is set up properly.
Temporary workaround for users having the issue is to uninstall and reinstall InputMapper’s distribution of HidGuardian.
Wobbles
There also seems to be a bug in the HidGuardian uninstaller that is coupled with IM that doesn’t allow proper removal. Fix is to download and run the installer separately.
